Learning without boundaries

Playing outdoors for learning - Learning to play outdoors

COVID update - all groups are currently postponed until Spring of 2021.

Fox cubs – under 3's accompanied

Our under 3's sensory seeker groups provide the opportunity for carers and their youngest children to have time together, in a nature based sensory rich bespoke play space. With the focus on developing early physical competency and a deep connection with themselves as learners. We run regular two hour sessions throughout the seasons. A distraction from our busy everyday lives, in-the-moment time with children is invaluable for building bonds, deepening relationships and reconnecting children - and their grown ups.

Squirrels – 3 years +

Preschool year unaccompanied sessions that offer nature based learning experiences that respect individual learners and harness their intrinsic motivation to engage with the natural world around them. Always seasonal, always fun!

Stags – 5 years +

Full day sessions that accommodate children who are flexi-schooling, home educating and who are embracing life away from main stream school and instead following learner led curricula in nature's playground.

Gateway to learning

Whether you are joining us as a day to celebrate the end of term or embarking on your own forest school programme Tiny Tribe can offer an outdoor space to learn, play, rest and explore. For whatever reason they come we aim to build positive childhood memories for all who do by encouraging positive engagement with others and the natural environment Tiny Tribe offers a chance to discover new skills that empower and enable children to experience the genuine feeling of success, autonomy and mastery.

Open to groups, nurseries, schools and organisations, Tiny Tribe hopes to enhance the holistic development of every child who visits by offering rich authentic experiences outdoors, and making friends along the way.

COVID News - We are not able to mix individual or groups of children from different school bubbles and are not able to offer any Play Days or Forest School activity days until Spring 2021

Offering a safe natural woodland area for children to explore, experience and enjoy a play day session with their friends. With well-trained mentors on whom the children can rely on if support is needed, the children will have free roam to access the unending open resources that such a natural environment provides.

We rely entirely on sense making safety-based rules only that are both age and ability appropriate. All risky play is encouraged, and we seek to be facilitating and encouraging of all creativity and playfulness. We seek that all the children experience what genuine success feels like, and in equal measure, of not fearing the experience of mistakes.

We have a thriving community of 4-11 yr olds regularly attending our Saturday Club. We run through 3 seasons from March to November.

We offer children the time and opportunity to practice making physical and social judgements for themselves, and experience the consequences for the actions they take. We understand the significance of children being able to make genuinely autonomous choices for themselves, and of taking personal responsibility for them.

Tech free, space to just be.

As a venue, our site has been used by therapists, educators, schools, photographers, as a parent community space, a training hub, a place to network, meditate, feel safe, rest and heal, and PLAY.

With several distinct spaces on site, we have been host to many in the pursuit of becoming a well visited community hub.

Children under 3 are charged at £5 an hour, children over 3 are charged at £6 an hour, and children over 5 yrs old are £7.50. Our sensory seeking babies who are often those young enough to be carried in, incur no charge until they begin to choose to participate and share snack. We have a small charge for any hot drinks.
